Heart center OK'd brings hope to region
The Bluefield heart center received official approval after years of effort by BRMC and Princeton Community Hospital. Gov. Wise and Sonia Chambers announced the decision at a Holiday Inn news conference, marking a milestone in regional health care cooperation and access to cardiac and cancer services. The certificate of need ended a lengthy battle including opposition from a consumer advocate and Kanawha County concerns, with CAMC partnering to support the program.
