A disaster scene description reports that eight months after a wreck the victims are presumed dead with injuries potentially exceeding fifty. Victims in all cars were hurled into a heap and a blaze spread rapidly, trapping and cremating those imprisoned.
A Pennsylvania excursion train carrying 169 teachers from Utica and Syracuse to Washington derailed near Martins Creek New Jersey. Eight are missing and presumed dead, dozens injured, and local homes became makeshift hospitals as flames ensued after the cars crashed and ignited.

The international industrial exposition opening in Turin was inaugurated by King Victor Emmanuel with royal and diplomatic attendance. J Pierpont Morgan attended by invitation. The show spans the river Po banks with about 125 buildings, featuring American, British, German and French exhibits and a strong emphasis on electrical, machinery and agricultural displays.
Rev W F Powell disclosed the January 19 1911 marriage of John Edward Nunn and Bessie James Mason to allow Nunn to support his widowed mother. A Thursday night blaze killed Nunn's mother and eight siblings. Nunn lies unconscious with little hope of recovery while his wife tends him without recognition.

It is believed Juan Cabral leads the rebels and Barron may join near Fronteras.
Five year old Max Tatlebaum of Roxbury died after friends bound him to a tree and set fire to his clothes as part of a playing Indian prank. The flames covered his body and he died in Boston City Hospital after hours of agony.
