The wedding of Miss Constance Satterlee daughter of the late Bishop Satterlee and Frederick W Rhinelander of New York was held at noon today in St Alban s Church Washington D C The ceremony marked a high society union with prominent clergy in attendance.

Indianapolis April 28 The Democratic state convention endorsed Governor Marshall's plan to back a United States senator candidate for next year. John W Kern, former vice presidential candidate, won the nomination on the fourth ballot amid a Taggart led challenge.
In Richmond Virginia on April 28 stock holders approved increasing the railroad bonds by 37.2 million dollars. Proceeds will fund the Hocking Valley acquisition and other purchases to strengthen the Chesapeake and Ohio system. Bonds carry 4.5 percent interest, run twenty years, and are convertible into C and O stock after one year.
West Virginia remains fair and warmer for Friday and Saturday. Virginia also warms with fair conditions and light winds from north to southeast through Friday and Saturday.
Terre Haute Ind April 28 The United Mine Workers district No 1 faced a furore as Secretary Fox introduced a resolution to authorize district officials to sign up all independent mine operators Final action was postponed pending a joint conference Fox claimed about thirty percent of Indiana tonnage could be signed within 24 hours and accused operators of exploiting the strike to raise coal prices with a pledge that no coal would be mined in Indiana for 30 days
Secretary Ballinger is set to take the stand tomorrow to present his view of the dispute with former Forester Gifford Pinchot. The testimony signals the start of the end of a congressional inquiry into Interior Department and Forest Service affairs. Ballinger was ready today but not called due to ongoing cross examination of Director Smith.

Flora Indiana April 28 Monroe Mead while plowing a field uncovered a valuable gold watch lost over a year ago. The heirloom had been searched for diligently before it was found last Friday in the same field.
The faction of one sixth of a vote decided the Democratic judicial convention in Marion Indiana. J Walter McClellan received 3028 votes out of 60 total.
Washington readers report that the Senate faces a vote on the Cum ming substitute for rate approvals and, if defeated, proceeds to the Elkins Crawford amendment. Senators Cummins Root Aldrich Vorah Bailey Heyburn debated the measure as Bristow condemned the current rate making system.

Assistant Cashier Broadhead testified before the house committee on expenditures in the treasury department that a mysterious hypnotic power, not politics, caused him to pay cashier F Shriner more than 8000 dollars in a year. The committee seeks the proper venue for its investigation into a shortage in the St Louis office. Broadhead said Shriner could control him by an unexplainable force.
B Y W R Keen, president of the Texas Midland railroad and son of Hetty Green, while in St. Louis from Terrell Texas, admitted receiving 150 marriage proposals. The letters were mostly unknown to him and many appeared unsigned.
