West Virginia offers $100 vaccine incentive for 16 to 35

Gov. Jim Justice announced a $100 savings bond incentive for West Virginians aged 16 to 35 who have received the COVID vaccine or will soon. The program aims to raise vaccination rates to 70 percent, reduce mask mandates, and end the public health crisis. He noted about 767,000 of the eligible population have had at least one dose, with 275,000 more needed in the 16 to 35 group to reach the target.

West Virginia's population fell to 1,793,716 in 2020, a 3.2 percent drop from 2010, the largest U.S. decline, reducing the state's congressional seats from six to five.
