Election Row Decision Upheld
The West Virginia Supreme Court upheld the Kanawha County court’s refusal to appoint election officials from the Democratic chairman’s list. The court denied the committee’s bid to force acceptance, noting the committee had not formally approved the list before submission and that the chairman could not unilaterally alter it. The case hinges on authority over appointment and whether the committee’s later vote to endorse the list was binding.
