In Pocahontas Virginia a sunlit crowd of over 175 gathered to celebrate the grand reopening of the Pocahontas Exhibition Mine. Billy E Hylton recalled guiding the last shuttle car from the Pocahontas East Mine in 1954 and spoke of his father Harry Hylton as chief motorman. The district known as Paradise, where Hylton has long lived, thrived in his youth and he remembers the era of hand loaded coal into wooden cars.
