Welch man charged with bigamy
Albert Mitchem of Davy is free on bond awaiting grand jury action on bigamy. He was arraigned before justice W R Lockhart and accused of marrying Virginia Wyatt on October 3 1936 and Dorothy Burkes on November 14 1944. The charge was brought by brother in law Arthur Edmondson.

Two Autos Stolen In Welch Recovered In Columbus
Two cars reported stolen from the Welch municipal parking building in the past two weeks were recovered in Columbus Ohio. One car belonged to Mrs Edna Whitt of Welch and the other to Jack Brickley of Gary No 7. The Dodge was found with a burned out motor. City officers Vance Spangler and Buster Dotson retrieved the vehicles by car, one pulling the other.

Welch Soldier Arrives Home From Europe
Mr and Mrs W S Nunnery of Welch celebrate as their son Pfc Sam Nunnery Jr arrives in the United States on leave after nearly three years overseas. A veteran of North Africa Sicily Italy and the western front he served with infantry after transferring from anti aircraft. Two other Nunnery sons are overseas including Cpl Mack Nunnery in Germany and S/Sgt Jimmy Nunnery on Iwo Jima.
