Three Men to Be Arraigned in Murder Case
Mariatta April 92 P Prosecution announces that three Paden City men Clay Lima 28 Walive Pippins 20 and Raymond Slider 18 will be arraigned tomorrow on first degree murder charges in the beating death of John Conrad 31 near here last August. They allegedly robbed him of 6750 after the slaying. Prosecutor Folger said confessions by Slider and Sims led to Pippin’s admission. Sims and Pippin are jailed while Slider is en route from Sistersville for medical treatment after mastoid operation. A special grand jury will hear the case.

Pearisburg Man Fatally Injured Jumping From Truck
William Gautier, 44, of Pearisburg, was fatally injured yesterday afternoon when he jumped from the rear of a moving motor truck near his home. The truck, driven by Eugene Johnston, was traveling slowly when Gautier lost footing on alighting and was thrown to the ground, breaking his neck. He was returning from the New River tannery where he worked. Survived by widow, three sons Walker, Willie, Everett, and one daughter Mrs Joe Ratcliffe, all of Pearisburg. Funeral arrangements were not complete last night.

Richmond April 22 A H Pettigrew senior engineer says twenty five planes will participate in the state air tour April 29 to May 2. The Standard Oil company will enter a Sikorsky amphibian with two Pratt and Whitney motors. The Lockheed monoplane provided by the same company will serve as an advance plane. Robers Ortel will pilot the advance fleet with parking logistics planned. A new Curtis pusher and a Curtiss Falcon with a 600 hp motor are slated for the tour. Navy and army planes from Ford all metal and Langley Mold sources are arranged, with Colonel Kirkland possibly joining. Planes arrival at Bluefield April 30 with Bristol overnight stop.

Monoplane Passengers Escape in Snowbound Landing
In Washington county a cabin monoplane was damaged during a forced landing in a snow storm. Pilot Frank T. Dunn of St. Louis and passengers Ball, owner of the St. Louis American League club, and Lloyd McCoy, a St. Louis row manufacturer, escaped injury as one wing, landing gear and propeller were smashed. New York April 22 125 customs men searched the Ile de France flagship of the French line from bow to stern after a tip of liquor and narcotics smuggling. The liner docked yesterday at Sandy Hook and sails Saturday as officers probe 10000 cases of liquor and narcotics allegedly planned for import. A Lafayette liner later yielded 252 bottles of Aquor in a ventilator stack. Crews quarters held 119 bottles, but officials say such stash is common aboard incoming ships.
