Baltimore April 19 1945 illicit whisky still seizures rose 45 percent in Maryland District of Columbia Virginia West Virginia and North Carolina to 558 in the first quarter. Mash 285 582 gallons and spirits 5 821 seized along with 130 trucks and autos and 703 persons arrested. North Carolina led with 396 still seizures while Virginia and West Virginia showed gains and declines in other categories.
