Buchanan County reports 12 positive coronavirus cases tied to Mountain Mission School in Grundy. School President Chris Mitchell says infection began April 6 with a staff member testing positive and three more staff members plus about eight children confirmed positive. Rope work saves hikers near Brush Creek Falls rescue
Four Mercer County hikers including a child were rescued after going off marked trails near Brush Creek Falls. West Virginia Natural Resources Police Officer G W Wood said rescuers rappelled from a cliff to reach them as high water and steep terrain complicated the escape. The group called 911 Tuesday evening and were located around 10 p m, with evacuation taking place after a long ascent to safety.

Virginia extends social gathering and business closure dates
