F J Akers 83, longtime Bluefield resident and huckster, died yesterday at 4 am from complications. native of Calloway Virginia he leaves no close relatives. Funeral service will be held Sunday at Mrs C Y Law's Rogers Street residence at 2 pm conducted by Rev T E Peters First Baptist Church. Burial will follow.

Charleston Apr 11 Walter Thurmond secretary of the state board of control announced plans for a 100 bed addition to Pinecrest Tuberculosis sanatorium approved by the board and department of public assistance bids will be asked next week for construction funded by public assistance. Estimated cost 100000. The board will furnish medical staff technicians and X ray equipment while maintaining relief patients will be paid by public assistance and county welfare agencies. The addition will raise Pinecrest capacity to about 460 patients. Reservists meet Bluefield officers and enlisted reservists attended a group school at the West Virginia hotel last evening to discuss Battalion in Attack.
