RICHLANDS MAN HIRAM H SIZEMORE DIES AT 65
Hiram H Sizemore 65 of Keen Mountain Virginia died at Richlands hospital after a short illness. He was a coal miner for nine years in Keen Mountain and is survived by his wife Martha Lou Whitt and 12 children, plus three brothers and a sister. Twelve Cases Heard In Municipal Court
Acting judge James M. Martin presided in Municipal Court last night with twelve cases on the docket. LeRoy Midkiff of Coal Creek was fined on drunken driving after forfeiting a $101 bond. Robert Beverly Marley of 315 Douglas Street received a $50 fine plus costs for reckless driving. W. J. Lower paid $11 for speeding. Others forfeited small bonds for running red lights and blocking traffic, while several defendants were turned over to the state for trial. A run of minor offenses included a $2.50 bond for running a stop sign and a $15 fine plus costs or 10 days for drunkenness.

Martin Plane Firm Sued By Airline
Northwest Airlines of St Paul filed a federal suit against Glenn L Martin Co claiming five defective planes were delivered and one crashed near Winona Minnesota on August 29 killing 36. The airline seeks 725000 total including 450000 for the lost plane and equipment 250000 for loss of services of the other planes and 25000 for workers compensation. The petition says the left wing tore off in flight.

Hearing Set For Mountain Case
Claude Belton, 35, of Bluefield, faces charges including stealing an automobile attempt to kill and hit and run after two East River mountain incidents. A 7 pm hearing before Justice of the Peace Charles McGuire was scheduled tonight. Belton was arrested Tuesday following a chase by victims of a crash during which he was found armed with a shotgun.

Navy planes fly Atlantic to California in 10 hours
The navy disclosed that two P2V Neptune bombers flew from a carrier off Norfolk to Moffett Field California in 10 hours. The aircraft crossed top of the Pacific during a training cruise, covering about 3000 miles with 23 hours of fuel. No bomb load was carried and the navy would not confirm carrier landing success.
