Caretta Resident Killed Wife Held
Freeman Twitty, a 56 year old McDowell County man, was shot once in the stomach at his Caretta home near Welch early Friday and died at a Welch hospital. His wife Nanny Mae Twitty, 44, is charged with murder and held for the McDowell County grand jury. She pleaded innocent in a War Justice court and remains jailed. The shooting, at 12:30 am, followed a family argument and occurred with no eyewitnesses. Twitty is survived by two sons and a stepdaughter. the body is at Page Funeral Home in Welch. Funeral plans are incomplete.
