A 1986 ambulance driven by Howard C Boyd 21 Tazewell Virginia also crashed after he tried to avoid the wreck. Officer E F Hensley is investigating.

Public Safety Secretary Skaff warned crime rises with drug trafficking as Hun noted guards earn 13800 annually and rookie pay sits at 16100 in regional jails. Hun and Skaff have met with Regional Jail Authority leaders to discuss improving staff morale and qualifications.
Ross Weeks Jr takes over as director of the Historic Crab Orchard Museum in Zewell Virginia. He aims to restore the museum to financial health after state grant losses and county cuts, relying more on private gifts. Plans include a 10th anniversary, Horsepen tavern fundraiser, outdoor pioneer reenactments, clog dancing and music to draw tourists.
