A Keystone tragedy reports Policeman C. M. Milan killed after attempting to arrest a disturbance by five or six men at the river bottom. Reddy wrested Milan’s pistol. Aaron Leftwich fatally shot Milan with it. Leftwich fled into the mountains. Keystone offers $100 rewards.
Keystone correspondent outlines further points in the Milan case. Aaron Leftwich drew a gun on policeman Charlie Milan. Milan, aided by C. M. Milan and Reddie Christie, pursued the culprits beside a railroad sidetrack and attempted to detain one suspect as Christie called for Milan to secure the other.
A charter is granted and a survey begun for a six mile railroad from Flemington to Astor in Taylor county. The line would connect with the Baltimore and Ohio branch at Berryburg in Barbour county and provide a coal export outlet while easing coal freight congestion at Grafton. Connellsville Pennsylvania parties head the new feeder.
Two sixteen year old Gypsy girls were sold by their guardian to a Brazilian band member for eight hundred amid a riot in Monico. The mob expelled the Gypsy group from the town as the sale occurred. In New York the Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse theft prompts insurers to cover the loss against the stolen gold.
Brigadier General John B. Turchin who commanded the Chicago Board of Trade Horse Artillery in the Tulsa campaign is declared insane and held in the Nashville county jail awaiting transfer to an asylum.

Notice announces the continuation of Evans & Thompson as Evans & Moore after H R Thompson retires and H L Moore takes his place. The new firm will handle collections and assume all duties of Evans & Thompson. Dated April 10, 1901.

Mrs N Larson and Adolph Runde were arrested in Portsmouth by Detective Hurrican Branch and Officer Anderson after being accused of immoral relations by Mrs Larson's son Martin. Runde had recently arrived from Germany and stayed at Larson's Nansemond county home. Trials led to withdrawal of charges when Larson signed over $3 000 in property to Martin. Authorities plan to prosecute Larson for offering a $50 bribe to secure Runde's release.
A fire on the United States transport Rawlins was discovered by a Japanese mess boy. The blaze began in a hay batch and all crew were saved. The transport Sedgewick was towed away from the pier to avoid the Rawlins burning ashore.
Manila dispatch reports Lieutenant Mapes of the Twenty third Infantry captured forty thousand dollars of insurgents funds and three officers of General Cailles staff. The seizure adds to efforts against rebel forces amid ongoing operations in the region.
