Emergency landing field may have averted two crashes
Braxton County operator Kenton Meadows says a Sutton emergency field could have prevented two crashes earlier in the week. He notes the Summersville crash killed four after the pilot did not land on the closed winter field. Federal officials say the sod field is closed for winter due to hazards and rut damage, despite a 310 foot strip and rotating beacon.

About 182 attended the March Mills mission party. $210.32 was sent to the Mills family. A church women workshop is set for April 29 at Mount Hope. May 5 9 45 a.m. Fellowship Breakfast will be at the Methodist Church. Mrs. Winfrey led a mission lesson “Togetherness in Missions” as Mrs. Bee Inge gave the devotional and Mrs. Mae Johnson collected the offering. Refreshments followed.
