Large Bluefield congregation attends revival led by Rev Sells as youths and couples publicly renew faith. Special afternoon service for children joins a busy weekend with Sunday school, morning and evening sermons, and praise accompanying travels of visiting choir leaders.
Porthoas who wish to retain the youthful figure and vigor are advised to eat apples regularly. Health experts say the fruit satisfies appetite and provides balance, vigor without corpulence. They claim that ten apples daily for a week will reduce weight without fainting discomfort.
Local anglers hoped for April trout at Hland Tazewell streams but waters remained muddy and high. Drought broken, but trout still biting poorly. Bluefield reporters seek spring and summer big fish tales while Cove Creek reports a huge trout stopping a wheel, years ago.
Bluefield Virginia churches announce an annual Sugriso prayer and communion service at Ga. M.E. Harp with Rev. W. H. Pinkerton of Washington DC preaching at 11 am and nightly for two weeks at 7 40. Memorial Baptist, Grate Church, and other assem blies schedule sunrise and regular services with Sunday school and special Easter activities. Public invited to all events.

OHN H. LUNBECK, a veteran American submariner, named quarter master of the submarine Nautilus. He will join Sir Hubert Viking and colleagues on a perilous polar expedition during Easter recess at his home in Dungannan, Scott county. Ward Goodwin is able to be out. William Sexton left Friday for Columbus, OG, to visit a friend during the Easter holidays. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Saunders of Willittington will attend Easter services at West Graham Methodist Church Sunday morning.
Nominations for the West Virginia Society Land of the American Revolution offices were announced in Huntington by Franklin L. Burdette secretary and nominating committee member. He said nomination equates to election and the committee’s choice will be ratified at the society’s April 17 meeting. Nominees included Roy K. Horner Clarksburg president Merriman Swith Bluefield first vice president.
President and Mrs. Hoover gave personal Easter greetings to about 300 visitors at the White House. An impromptu reception on the south lawn followed, with the grounds later announced open for an hour daily through the Master holidays. Weather forecasts warned of rain, delaying plans to view the cherry blossoms gifted by Japan.
Estimates of visitors ranged from 60,000 to 100,000 as special trains brass bands and private cars carried attendees from distant states to the event.
Johnston Niven Hereman of Jamestown file a petition in New York claiming Chauncey M Depew Jr left a cousin nothing in the will and that the will giving Yale University and four other cousins large sums was obtained by undue influence and fraud. Depew died January 26.
