Death of John Langdon at Maroa
John Langdon died at Maroa last Saturday afternoon after a long illness. Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. conducted by Bld. L. E. Newcomer of the Christian church. The Langdons, who bought and ran the Columbia hotel in Maroa several months ago, leave a wife and young son.

Local man takes own life near town grain bin
News reached us that Bred Scaggs, about 24, five miles northeast of here, committed death by own action this morning by hanging. A younger brother found his body hanging in a granary at 9:30 a.m. His mind had been affected for several years.
