A Monday night tornado struck Bloomfield causing extensive destruction from the northwest to southeast, destroying homes barns and trees. The Calvert residence was badly damaged injuring a couple, the Richland mill shed and a new 11 story dwelling were destroyed, and the covered bridge across Richland creek was wrecked.
