Poor Asylum Annual Report Details 593 Receipts and 2519 Expenditures
W H Herrington superintendent of the poor asylum filed the annual report showing receipts of 593.05 and expenditures of 2519.56. The institution cared for 47 persons aged two to ninety with three deaths. Stockton township supplied 24 inmates followed by Stafford with seven and several townships with two or three inmates each.

Thief Steals Lyons Mail Carrier Auto at Dreamland
Thomas Pickard, a Lyons rural route mail carrier, left his car in front of the Dreamland theater Friday night. Police chased leads after a car crash near Dugger. Two youths, Wilber Clark and Carl Smith known as Carl Stewart, were arrested in Terre Haute and jailed on theft charges. Chief Beatty pursued the culprits to Terre Haute.

Combs Ransom John Ransom Combs Dies at 72 in Center Township
John Ransom Combs aged 72 of Center township died at his mother's home early Sunday and was buried Monday in the Combs cemetery. His 92-year-old mother is dangerously ill, and the family fears she may not recover. He is survived by four sons and three daughters.
