Telegram from Washington dated July 2 1890 confirms D W Voorhees will come to Worthington on August 12 barring providence. Some doubt the trip and suggest the event is only a crowd drawing. The message was received June 27 through G H Sfendren Bloomfield Ind.
Jacob Templeton formerly of Bloomfield was killed at Dugger while attempting to brake a coal car. The car’s brake failed and he was crushed between the car and bumpers. he died about 8 15 a m and was laid to rest in Bloomfield cemetery that same day. He had no family.

Special to the Indianapolis News. Malcomb Lambking ten miles east of town died after horrific convulsions from a dog bite likely endured thirty days earlier. He was bitten while at Newark Greese county, went to Terre Haute for a mad stone, returned to work, later developed delirium and hydrophobia, and died at 19 after being strapped to the floor during convulsions.

A three year old girl of Henry Switz Switz City fell into a fourteen foot deep well Wednesday evening and drowned water two feet from the top. She was found floating at the surface and buried at Miller graveyard north of town yesterday evening.
Paris July 9 French scientist M Paul Gifford reports a new propulsive liquid gas named La Nouvelle Balistigne. Three hundred drops in a small steel container behind a rifle bullet expand on contact with air, driving the bullet with great speed without noise or smoke. The invention also applies to artillery.

Tickets priced at one fare will be sold July 14 and 15 with return validity through July 18. The Democrat will be mailed to addresses until after the November election or available for 50 cents spot cash.
Ordinance No 10 requires owners on Main street between Franklin and Jones addition and on Washington street between Spring and Mechanic to build open sewers within 30 days. Sewers must be four feet wide ten inches deep with ruble stone, aligned with street grade, ten feet from lot lines, matching existing sewers.
