Democrats Put Full Ticket Forward For State Constitutional Convention

The Democratic state central committee, after a broad informal gathering, decided to field a complete slate of delegates to the 1916 constitutional convention. Officials said the move aims to mobilize public interest during wartime and to ensure the convention is staffed by capable nonpartisan public servants. Delegates at large will be fifteen Democrats with district voters choosing local delegates. Governor Goodrich was criticized for attempting to steer the process. The meeting also planned firm organizational steps, with Greathouse set to head headquarters and expand the women's executive committee. Miller leads Indianapolis race for mayor with Shank second.
