A Pennsylvania farmer recalls boyhood days while walking along a Philadelphia and Reading Railroad track near Lebanon. He placed his tongue on a rail and froze it to the metal as a train approached, pulling free risked the roots of his tongue. A doctor visit calmed his fears and he recovered, though the tongue lost its former vigor.

The school election on Monday elected two trustees for six years. Mrs. Frank DeKay and H. W. Kiefer won the seats as female voters and workers helped tip the balance. A total of 63 votes were cast.
