Dr J B Cooper faced a misdemeanor for practicing medicine in Idaho without a license. He had been fined $50 previously, jailed part of the time, and returned to practice after release. A later trial resulted in a $150 fine plus court costs and 30 days in county jail, with an appeal pending and bond set at $300.
A Boise report alleges the Populists would seek all legislative patronage in return for nine votes for Dubois as U S Senator. The News doubts the report and warns it may be unverified. The piece argues fusion supporters are pledged to party directives and warns against betraying those aims.
The state’s presidential vote far exceeded expectations with an official total above 57,000, surpassing the committee’s 60,000 guess. Electors Rowton and Ried led their parties with 56,664 combined, with Prohibition and Middle of-the-road votes possibly adding 800, bringing total near 57,500. Compare to 39,747 in 1898, indicating a gain of about 17,750 in two years and showing growth.
Official returns show Capt Hunt with a 2233 plurality leading the ticket. Miss French follows with 2106. Jacobs, mine inspector, has 1180 and Glenn, file leader for congress, 1193. Electors plurality goes to Reid 2170, Dockery 1788, and Rich 1736.
The week long snow storm blanketed the intermountain region from Colorado to Oregon and northward to Idaho Montana Utah and Wyoming. Sharp cold reached 30 degrees below zero in places. Sheepmen with distant flocks face heavy losses as feed runs short and Blackfoot reports about 18 inches of snowfall.

A twelve year old barefoot rider called John Smith challenges townsfolk to horse races for five dollars or a horse. Pars Jones observes and arranges a 100 yard dash with Pars Pinto pony. the Pinto wins by twenty feet, leaving the boy Ted Sloan disappointed. The boy hails from a new Idaho Valley family and cherishes a code of debts and bravado.

A Kentucky Blue Grass colonel aboard a whiskey laden ship chose to stay behind as the vessel sank. The captain urged him into a lifeboat but he refused, saying he would go down with the ship. The tale emphasizes his steadfast loyalty and self sacrifice amid looming disaster.
Kendricks firm of North Idaho received an order for 12 car loads of Idaho apples from Minneapolis. It marks the state's largest single shipment to date.
An old advertisement at Pioneer drug store urges good weathering of colds with Ballard's Horehound Syrup. It claims a dose early saves hours of distressing coughing. Pricing listed as 25 and 50 cents.
An old advertisement touts Lichty's Celery Nerve Compound as an invaluable remedy for female complaints and disorders said to arise from impure blood, with Hull and Woodruff's selling it.
J H Munson of Bryan Idaho filed an estray notice November 3 1900 with the Bingham county auditor describing a sorrel gelding three years old weight 1100 pounds with a white facial stripe and branded S on the left shoulder. Owner may recover by paying all legal charges within forty days from November 20 1900. Gro F Gagon auditor.
