The Blackfoot News suspends publication after fourteen years as a weekly and one year as a semi weekly. The editor thanks readers for support and notes Blackfoot’s growth to a city and state expansion. The paper exits with no successor and bids readers farewell.
Judge Joseph C. Rieh fixed terms for 1902 in six counties of the fifth district. Paris Bear Lake February 3 and August 4. Pocatello Bannock February 24 and August 8. Blackfoot Bingham April 1 and September 1. St. Anthony Fremont April 7 and September 22. Salmon City Lemhi May 5 and November 10. Malad Oneida May 19 and November 24.
Newly elected officers of Grove City lodge of Masons were installed last Friday evening. W. E. Barnhart is W M and J. M. Stevens S W. other posts include H. W. Curtis J W and Geo F P Gagan treasurer. Chas Johnson secretary. Percy Jones S D. W F P Martin J D. Daniel Raymond marshal. A D Quantrell 5.3. J B Shoemaker J S. BR J Osborn Tyler. A luncheon and social hour followed.

Forty nine Grove City Woodcraft ladies welcomed 49 visiting Pocatello members on Saturday evening in Blackfoot. Semi monthly meetings planned. Notably all 64 attendees recalled annual and semi annual passwords.
John Grutzman of River side held the winning number 18605 to draw the fine HOU piano at D. H. Brethan's mercantile store last Thursday. About 30,000 tickets were distributed to customers.

The Miles City Stoeckgrowers Journal praises Harry Horton of Blackfoot fame for a grand Christmas display. Along the east wall hang sixteen splendid sides of select steers, twenty five lamb carcasses tower above, with pyramids of turkeys chickens and ducks and a tall Christmas tree reaching toward the ceiling inviting customers and curiosity.
A local resident, W. C. Woekner, praises Chamberlain's Cough Remedy after a two month severe cough. The testimonial says the remedy cured him and encourages others to try it. Scott & Co. are noted as sellers of the product.

The Idaho Insane Asylum at Blackfoot announces bids for furnishing supplies, with a long list of provisions including dried fruits, coffee, crackers, tobacco, flour, canned goods, spices, and clothing. Bids due January 1, 1902, must be sealed and delivered freight prepaid to the asylum. The board reserves right to reject any or all bids.
