News of snow in Blue Mountains and wheat belt dullness in Palouse. local illnesses and new appointments listed.
The Current Event Club met with Mrs. Charles Johnson on Saturday April 18 for its annual business meeting and elected officers for the ensuing year. The Village Improvement Society of Idaho Falls promotes town betterment and plans twenty five new traveling library book cases to circulate fifty volumes each.
The land office heard the case Heath versus Hal Linan on Saturday for 80 acres near Dempsey in Bannock County Cal Judge D W Standrod and W J Reeves represented the contestee while G A Hannaford and J M Stevens appeared for the contestant.
Parley Croft is held on $2,000 bond by Judge Sample for having and disposing of horses of others brands. He cannot post the bond and awaits trial in district court. Judge J. D. Flenner of Boise travels to north Idaho to collect exhibits for the International mining congress in Boise this July.
Notice of sale to be held May 16 1001 at 1 o clock a m at the Court House Blackfoot Idaho. State lands in Bingham County offered at public auction with appraised values available at the County Treasurer or State Land Board. Leased lands sell subject to lease terms with bidding not below 310 per acre or appraised value plus first year interest and 10 percent of purchase price. Frank Martin and B Steinenberg sign for the State Board of Land Commissioners.
Blackfoot district eight trustees announce the 1901-02 teaching corps: Chas. Johnson principal Miss Lottie Scott intermediate Miss Nettle Messerly intermediate Miss Minnie Tanner intermediate Miss Rebecca Wright second primary Miss Nannie McCracken primary. An assistant principal will be elected soon. Miss McCracken Wright Blackfoot and Miss Messerly Chicago bring strong testimonials.
The Eastern Idaho Water Co of Blackfoot Idaho lists delinquent stock for assessment No 28 dated January 26 1901. John K Rogers certificate 1119 2 shares F124 faces sale at the companys Blackfoot office at 8 o clock p m on May 26 1901 to cover delinquent assessment costs and sale expenses by order of the board of trustees secretary John Mostaomery April 22 1901

Five miles from Black Foot on the West Side a ranch owner seeks help locating two thoroughbred rams missing since Friday April 19. Both animals are shorn with no brands and tin ear tags reading Chas Steadman West Jordan. Gro A Worden offers 85.00 reward for information leading to their return.
Trustees levied 1.00 per share cash assessment on stock payable to John F. Shelley by May 1 1901. Three cents per share may be paid in single band labor and 1.20 per share in term labor if called by Supt. Delinquent shares will be sold at public auction to cover the assessment costs.
