Kansas City youth on trial for trunk robbery in Mexico

Ernest Wright then 19, son of a prominent Kansas City citizen, stands in district court in Mexico on robbery charges. He moved to Mexico about sixteen months ago to work for the Mexican Central railroad and rose to baggage master. The U S Supreme Court affirms a lower court ruling and remands Banker Cook for trial in state court. Cook, linked to wrecking state banks at Juneau and Hartford by fraudulent methods, loses his federal avenue. The decision leaves his case to state judges Gresham and Jenks to preside. Careless Conductor in Train Wreck Near Hartley Ill

A Chicago Milwaukee St Paul train left a caboose loaded with five bridge crew cars on a steep grade near Hartley Illinois. Brakes were not set and cars rolled into a moving eastbound train near Everly. The engine wrecked and burned with five men trapped. Stephenson died and J Stephenson was severely injured. Fire and rescue workers worked to reach the survivors.

Worst Ever Experienced Car Famine Hits South Dakota Lines

Nov. 28 reports from South Dakota describe the worst car famine on rail lines as elevators and grain houses fill beyond capacity. Thousands of bushels of wheat flood markets then stall as cars are unavailable.
