News from Mu.WarKee dated November 22 reports ex Secretary of Agriculture Jore Rusk's death shocking admirers and prompting funeral plans. Ex President Harrison and cabinet members may attend. a social train for officials will leave for the funeral. Rusk, 63, served as governor of Wisconsin, congressman, and secretary of agriculture beginning in 1889 after a Civil War career with Sherman.
A Viroqua dispatch reports General Rusk died suddenly after a brief recovery. Family members observed a peaceful end after a night of nourishment and rest. Crowds and officials in Madison prepare for a funeral train. Ex-President Harrison reacts with sorrow and condolence.
Dispatches report a Gulf to British possessions storm with heavy wet snow in Chicago the season’s first. East of the city the weather is fleeting and telegraphic communications are precarious. Also notes Floyd and Schieg remanded in London for extradition papers after bank robbery in Minneapolis.
In November 1893 about 400 Milwaukee residents gathered at Lincoln Hall to hear Dr. J. A. Gregoriwitsch of Russia lecture on mindreading. A mayoral order demanded the audience be dismissed within 24 hours, prompting protests and the decision to reschedule the show after health department consultation. The mayor cited concerns about public crank activity and the Prendergast order.

Directum then took the second heat easily in 2:10.4 by three lengths. Mina Nov 2 D Lind, a well to do Swede, disappeared from his home Friday. A search party found him dead about a mile north of town with his elderly wife shot to pieces by a double barreled rifle. It is a clear case of death by his own hand.
Privately telegraphed dispatches report two recalls from Rio de Janeiro. The Argentine minister in Rio was recalled after requesting protection from the United States minister. The Portuguese minister was recalled at President Peixoto's request.
A fugitive known as Halzh the Gogebie highwayman and murderer, removed to the asylum for criminal insane ation in Tilnzhay. He allegedly killed several people in Wisconsin and Michigan three years ago, robbed trains and country post offices, and committed other depredations.
A disastrous hotel fire at Merrill station on the Cleveland and Pittsburgh road in Beaver County Pennsylvania destroyed the three story hotel owned by Bradley and Keener. Five bodies recovered, many guests burned or missing amid charred remains. Two more victims, James Hughes and James P Miller, later recovered from the ruins.
