Kicked and Beaten at Chicago Insane Asylum Revealed

Winnipeg Man Arrested in Wisconsin Embezzlement Case

A Winnipeg man Leé Whitehead, living in Han Claire, was arrested in St Paul on May 20 after a warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of bigamy and embezzlement in Wisconsin. He allegedly used fictitious names to pay workers and endorced checks for large sums. The arrest followed a report that a woman, said to be his wife, arrived by the steamer United Empire accompanied by Sheriff Clarke of Wisconsin.

Body of Dr Cronin Found in Chicago Sewer Basin

The partially decomposed body of Dr Cronin was found in a Lakeview sewer catch basin in Chicago at 6:30 PM. It was naked except for a towel around the head and showed a smashed skull. Police and Cronin’s friends awaited identification while rumors of foul play were examined.

Fort Keogh recruitment and Dakota election notes

Capt Francis Clarke of the Twenty second Infantry discusses rifle competition at Fort Keogh and retirement plans. Capt C B Hall recruits twelve mounted men at St Fant for Fort Keogh and the Eighth Cavalry. The recruiting service forwards forty recruits to Dakota for cavalry duty at Port Aasinaboine. A correspondent from Winona, Emmons County, cites Bis marck Daily figures and predicts Emmons will cast fewer than 40 votes. Williamsport correspondent reports district totals for McIntosh and related voting in the seventh district.
