On May 16 Albion Thorne, clerk of the circuit and county courts in Sioux Falls 8 D was arrested and arraigned on two indictments. One accuses misappropriation of 1580 of county funds, to which he pleaded not guilty. He demurred to a second indictment for failing to report to the public examiner. The demurrer will be heard next Monday.

In Saint Louis Water Minn May 1 a long trial ended with a verdict for the plaintiffs Seymour Sabin Co in full amount claimed 70 343 or 955 000 with interest since October 188%.
