Riot at St Peter and St Pauls Church Leaves One Dead

A riot erupted at St Peter and St Pauls Catholic Church on Messanic Street in St Joseph Missouri. One man was fatally injured and six others badly hurt with two in serious condition. A faction opposed to the priest attempted to disrupt services and several arrests have been made.

Railroads Show Strong Six Month Earnings Rise

New York Aug 20 Greatly increased railway earnings are reported by a Bradstreet extract. The gross earnings of 145 railroad companies for the first six months of 1895 total $210,099,773 up 1 per cent from 1894, while net earnings reach $102,707,744 up 8.1 per cent and following declines from 1893.

Fire destroys factory building injures workers and firemen

A blaze at the Pat out Steel Whip plant in Svainareny Aug 20 wrecked the engine room stock machinery and the brick and frame structure. A roof collapse injured Linen with a brick wall falling, while Ex-Fire Chief King suffered fractured ribs and several interns injuries.
