In Mise Arouts on August 18 J Frank Coltom the alleged forger appeared with counsel Hon E M Wilson who said the defense failed to get a week’s adjournment and Coltom would waive examination and leave the matter to the grand jury Wilson sought bail reduction from 110000 to 61000 but the lower amount was not obtained after arguments in court

Long Street In 236% Wins Omni Bus Stakes at Moura Fane

The $2,500 a side, three year olds race over one and a half miles drew about 12,000 spectators in a cloudy, dusty Moura Fane meeting. Long Street In 236% led most of the race, with Proctor Knott and Sylvester among the contenders, as Salvator, Calémp, Lioness and Buddist trailed. The finish was a spirited stretch duel with Long Street prevailing by two lengths amid a sun break after showers.

Longstreet Woods Through To Victory In Fast Race

In a swift finish at the track Longstreet surged to win by two lengths with Proctor Knott a head back, Salvator third, Buddhist fourth. The crowd cheered as the victor, Longstreet, gained daylight and claimed the prize amid a flurry of results across multiple races including Bradford and Burlington wins and other placings.
