Importance Of Oil During War

Forty seven officers of the armed forces attend the second class of the Basic Petroleum school operated by Shel Of company at the Industrial War college in Washington DC. Major Gereta T B Larkin, quartermaster general, opened the program noting its value as military industry cooperation and the oil industry’s specialized knowledge for wartime petroleum needs.

Shell starts military oil handling school at Katonah

Shell established a training program at the request of the armed forces after officers attended a prior three week course for Shell personnel at Katonah New York. Dr G P Koch heads the course. he was loaned to the Davy and air force for instruction during the war. Training materials including manuals charts engine models oil samples and films were adapted for military use.

Stockgrowers To Meet In Bozeman May 13-15

The Montana Stock Growers Association will hold its forty fourth annual convention in Bozeman May 13 to 15. Secretary A E Phillips says this first Bowman event since 1987 lets Browers view college and experiment station work on beef production. Officers include W F Sullivan president, K Warren first vice president, M G Simpson second vice president, and Phillips. The association has about 4 000 members.
