Census Shows Big Gain in Yellowstone County Schools
County Superintendent T Pemberton reports the 1950 census across 27 districts shows 21 713 persons under 21, up 1 062 from 1949. Boys lead in numbers though girls gain. 14 083 school age and 7 620 county children. Billings district totals 15 498 under 21, Laurel and Huntley Project show notable gains. Driver exams set for Billings. milk price talks held by local producers. A Christmas stork delivery adds a girl to Mr and Mrs Briese and other local births noted.

EMCE to Offer Seven Adult Education Classes
Eastern Montana College of Education announces seven winter quarter courses to be held in the evenings and Saturday mornings starting January 8. Programs include practical speaking English composition interior design metal work and jewelry and an art workshop. EMCE Winter Quarter Opens January 2 at East BriL College
EMCE Winter Quarter opens January 2 with a new pre holiday registration. All new students and fall quarter students needing registration must come on January 2 between 9 to 12 and 1 to 4 pm. Classes begin Wednesday January 3. A religion course, Comparative Religions of the World, is added to winter offerings.

Khaki Santa Delivers Striped Gift to Fort MacArthur Soldier
A khaki clad Santa arrived at Fort MacArthur with stripes for Cp Drake and 22 other men, marking Drake as the first reserve to be called up without a promotion. Drake, an auditor at the post finance office, served in Japan in World War I and previously worked at City Food Market before his recall last September. People recall seeing the event in the Billings Herald.
