Migratory Bird Regulations for Montana 1951 Season
Montana sets a 50 day 1951 migratory bird hunting season from October 12 to November 30. Waterfowl rules exclude certain snow geese and swans in identified counties with daily limits and special opening date noon start. Goose limits allow up to five per day with combinations of Canada geese and white fronted geese, plus snow geese in specified counties, and a 90 day final possession deadline February 28 1952. Hunting gear restricted to bows and shotguns up to 10 gauge. rifles handguns prohibited.

Section Worker Strikes Foreman With Shovel
Paul K Crawford of Oakland is jailed after striking foreman Anton P. Kanell with a shovel near Grey Cliff. Kanell, injured with a bad head wound and bruises, is hospitalized and recovering. County Attorney O J Paulson and Sheriff Osborne investigated. Crawford had a grievance with the foreman. Charges are pending.

The Big Timber DeMolay chapter opened its 1951-52 year with a Sept. 19 meeting at Masonic hall. Officers were reappointed and new appointees include Jerry Cook Glen Blair Clair Engle and Bruce Marlow. A buck contest was planned and robes out of town initiation ceremonies and a basketball team are anticipated.
