Fire at Northern Pacific Station Hurts West End Roofing
A Sunday afternoon blaze at the Northern Pacific station started by sparks from a westbound freight engine. Under Sheriff Whitsel and a small in town fire crew, aided by a telegraph line crew with hoses, fought the fire in the roof area with minimal damage. A St. Paul fire fighter with five years service was singled out for his quick action.

Four Drown When Boat Capsizes on Lake Washington

Physician To Harding Dies At Marion Home
Marion report says Brigadier General Charles Elmer Sawyer personal physician to the late President Harding died suddenly of heart disease at White Oak Farm. He collapsed in his office awaiting medicine from his son Dr. Carl W. Sawyer and died in his sleep. Mrs. Florence Kling Harding assisted, and Mrs. Harding has lived at White Oak Farm since Harding’s death.
