Death From Blood Poisoning After Runaway Horse Incident
William Harper, 19, son of Mr and Mrs John J Harper of Melville, died early Monday of blood poisoning after being dragged by a runaway horse a week earlier. The accident occurred near Melville when Harper and Jack Christensen were riding to Ruppert ranch. Harper sustained severe flesh injuries but survived until infection set in. Funeral held at Lutheran church with large floral tributes and 27 autos in procession.
