Street Car Collision Kills Two in San Francisco
A Sunday afternoon crash at Turk and Devisadero streets left two dead and many injured as an east bound Ellis street car failed to stop on the Devisadero hill and struck a west bound Eddy street car turning from Turk. The seriously injured include contractor Albert Johnson and Arthur Johnson. The event disrupted a crowd en route to a beach and a political ticket speech by W R Hearst drew applause.

Trains Collide in Piqua Calamity Deadly Collision
A Pennsylvania freight collided with a Cincinnati Hamilton and Dayton excursion at Piqua Ohio. The freight engine lost control and ripped the CH&D engine from its coaches across a Miami River bridge. Twelve year old Lester Eicher of Trenton was killed after being struck by the freight. Two other young men were slightly injured and a Newport Kentucky niece of Mrs Burton was seriously hurt. The CH&D engine was disabled.

Three Men Blown To Pieces In Dyname Explosion
A dynamite accident at Chambers Bros McQuigge and McCafferys camp eighteen miles from Kenora on the Winnipeg river near Bir Rock cut killed three workers. Foreman Nels Longhill and workers Lewis Peterson and Charles Hanson were blown apart as a hole was loaded before detonation. All three were single aliens.

Water from a cloudburst swept Elk creek valley in Dakota and Dixon counties Sunday, destroying hundreds of tons of hay and drowning livestock.
