Judge H. J. Miller of Livingston opened the September term Tuesday with bonds of county commissioners approved. The session set hearings for October 4 1927 and included judgments on several civil cases and a foreclosure decree. A fall jury term may be held in October or November if business warrants.

Lois Delander of Joliet Illinois was crowned Miss America of 1927 at Atlantic City before more than 10 000 spectators. The Illinois junior in Gloria Township High School won eight votes beating Moselle Ransome of Dallas Texas who received five.

Top Price Of Cattle Made In Kansas City
Kansas City cattle market sets a new top price for all classes. A head averaging 1431 pounds sold at 14.45 per hundredweight, about 207.10 a head, surpassing the 14.40 peak hit Aug. 17 for heavy steers and the recent yearling high.

Helena Montana September 10 Montana game fields will be the mecca of hunting parties next season if arrangements planned by the Northern Pacific railroad prove attractive. Special lodge cars are being prepared with sleeping lounging and eating quarters to accommodate many persons. A party of sportsmen may charter one of these cars for any definite trip and tours are being arranged. Helena Montana September 10 140 gasoline samples were tested by the state public service commission during August with 12 failing to meet the legal standard. Samples covered every make sold in Montana and refiners cooperated to make corrective changes where needed. Tests also found issues with gasoline shipped in distillate used containers which did not pass the test.

Montana to ship about 300000 cattle to eastern markets
Montana plans to ship roughly 300000 head of cattle to eastern markets this fall, state veterinarian Dr. W J Butler says. Joseph Weamer a Sweet Grass resident on a ranch above the Bud Hanson place died last night after a three year illness of dropsy. Funeral arrangements await arrival of son Nicholas from Mansfield Ohio. Born June 5 1866 in Union City Indiana he married Adda Snooks March 21 1888. Eleven children survive plus two brothers.

The pioneer Lake Basin Trading Co. in Rapelje has ceased operations. Stock was moved to Reed Point, joining Reed Point Trading Co. owned by Robert Line. Line will join the University faculty and move to Missoula by the 20th, while keeping county residence and interests in Columbus and Reed Point stores. The firm, oldest in Rapelje, had a history of managers including Albert K. Smith Claude Cunstheel Sam Nissen and Huldah Ekstrom who resigned earlier this year.

Wreckage of Old Glory Found Off Newfoundland Coast
The Daily Mirror reports from St. John's aboard the S Kyle that wreckage of the Old Glory includes 34 feet of wing with three fuel tanks and gauges. The engine and fuselage are missing, with only a lever and speaking tube near gauges. Wing markings include an American flag and possible NX-703. A reward of 325000 stands, payment undecided pending Kyle’s return.
