High School Carnival Set for Saturday at Sweet Grass
Sweet Grass county high school plans its annual carnival on Saturday November 2 to raise funds for student activities. The Thespian club opens with a one act play Life o the Party at 7 30 followed by carnival concessions. A new method will allow attendees to vote for carnival queen with one ticket per person.

Wedding of Helen Mysse and Thomas Osen at Big Timber church
Helen Mysse daughter of Reed Point residents and Thomas Osen son of Glasston were married in a candlelit double ring ceremony at Big Timber Lutheran Church. A reception followed in the parish hall with about 100 guests. He served 34 months in the European theater and works in Livingston. she previously ran Kristy Kay beauty shop in Reed Point. They plan to live in Livingston after a Billings honeymoon.

Mobile X ray Truck Visits Big Timber For Free Chest Screens
On November 13 and the morning of November 14 a mobile X-ray truck will be in Big Timber offering free chest X-rays to everyone over 12. The Montana Tuberculosis association and state board of health sponsor the service with the Big Timber Woman's Club handling the county Christmas seal sale. The unit can take over 100 chest films per hour and requires only a few seconds at the machine with minimal clothing changes for metal objects.

Forty nine Girl Scouts and leaders attended a banquet at Parish hall Tuesday at 6 30 p m in their honor hosted by the Big Timber Womans club. Government Moves to Boost Veterans Housing Supplies
The Truman administration unveiled measures to speed lumber and nails for veterans housing. D J Walvoord Dies Suddenly in Rochester Minnesota
D J Walvoord, longtime Big Timber resident since 1895, died Tuesday night in Rochester Minnesota. A telegram to his nephew James Roberts gave no cause. He had been seeking medical care in Rochester for about a month and planned to visit Cedar Grove Wisconsin after release. Services and burial will be in Cedar Grove. his wife Mrs Walvoord is in San Diego and cannot attend due to ill health.
