Mrs. Anna Stuart 78 longtime Billings resident since 1922 died at 11 20 am at her home after a long illness from lung cancer. Born in Aberdeen Scotland Oct 16 1874 she came to the United States in 1895 later living in White Sulphur Springs Reed Point Big Timber and Billings. Funeral services 10 am Saturday Smiths funeral chapel burial Moonview Cemetery. Parade and transportation plans tied to election day activities and civic groups announced by local committees with multiple volunteers and a 20 donation from the Big Timber Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Mrs. Guri Fredrickson 72 a long time Sweet Grass County resident died Friday at home from a stroke. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Lutheran church with Rev. E E Tollefson officiating. Burial was in Mountain View. Survivors include three daughters four sons four sisters three brothers and 11 grandchildren.
Charles B. Bryan son of Mr and Mrs Arthur M Michels of Big Timber Montana has been selected for advancement in rate to air control man third class USN at Naval Air Station Norfolk Virginia. The promotion follows competitive examinations conducted worldwide this summer testing seamanship gunnery military law and his Navy trade knowledge.
The Carnegie library board reelected Selmer Solberg and Arthur Schump to terms expiring this month at Monday’s meeting. Mrs. Mattie Fallang was reappointed librarian with Ada Wells as assistant, and D. Claiborn was re-elected secretary. New chairs for the librarian’s desk, card files, and rubber mat runners were ordered along with repair work and other matters.
Otter Creek and Big Timber Creek four 4 H clubs held their annual achievement night at Moose Hall with about 200 in attendance. A varied program featured soil testing demonstration, musical performances, and a presentation by F B Peterson county agent who noted county 4 H membership at 197, up from 136. Awards highlighted charter status for Big Timber Creek and a fund for a 4 H camp in Washington D C with donations toward the project.
