L C Romans died at his home near Hunters' Hot Springs at 4 p m Tuesday after a several months illness. Born in Ohio May 12 1849 he came to Montana in youth and became a leading cattleman. Survived by two children Roy and Lizzie and by his wives Elva B Wright and Emma M Adams.
John Willis was found guilty of shooting at Nye and sentenced to five years in prison. He claimed self defense but evidence presented by County Attorney Hall undermined the defense. A. G. Hatch defended Willis.
Deputy Cavano returned from Dickinson with Gladys Smith accused of robbing May Wilson. The girl denied the charge and no stolen articles were found in her possession, so the sheriff released her.
