First Montana District Court Docket Unearthed From Idaho Era
Col W F Sanders found the first district court docket of Montana in an old Idaho territory record. The docket shows January 20 1864 orders appointing a clerk and authorizing provisional writs as Chief Justice Sidney Edgerton led. The first action listed involved Edward J Lockwood & Co. against E W McNiel and others filed March 31 1864 with Sanders as plaintiff's attorney.
