The Luzerne County Medical Society notes the death of Dr Olive Baskett while traveling with her husband Dr George Baskett in Texas. Olive Baskett, who joined the society 34 years ago, helped raise psychiatric care standards at Retreat State Hospital and earned a 50 year plaque from Pennsylvania in 1957. A resolution expressing sympathy to Dr George Baskett and the family will be read at the next meeting and a copy kept in records.

Juanita Thompson 47, a former Billings and Livingston resident, died Monday in Bethesda Maryland. Born March 9 1914 in Livingston she lived in Yakima Washington for eight years taught in Seattle and Yakima schools and in Sweet Grass county high school in the 1930s. She was a member of Daughters of the Eastern Star Delta Gamma Sorority and Century Club.
