Sault Ste. Marie Mich Nov 23 Eighteen crew members of the steamship Myron are believed dead after the vessel foundered off Whitefish Point and later sank in four fathoms of water. Two attempting steamships hurled lines to the men but could not reach them as the sea raged and men clung to the cabin. The storm has claimed numerous lives over two weeks.
In Butte, Fred Gangner of Anaconda was found guilty on three counts of moonshining after a liquor still was found and operated at his Georgetown Lake property. He faces sentencing on November 26. Gangner formerly served as Anaconda mayor and was a Deer Lodge County legislator.
