Body found on N P right of way in Montana tragedy
The body of Robert Van Pelt, 25, of Missoula was found on the Northern Pacific railroad right of way at Quebeck siding near Big Timber. He and Maurice Jardipee were riding a freight train when Van Pelt was killed. Jardipee, a Filat head Indian, rode on to Bemidji seeking work and later learned of the death. Coroner Lowry said no inquest would be held. Van Pelt leaves a five week old daughter and a widow, Zella.

Services Held For Mrs Flemming 86 Resident Of Reed Point
Funeral services for Marguerita Dorthea Flemming 86 were held Saturday at the Evangelical United Brethren church in Reed Point with Rev. E J Bott officiating. Burial followed in Reed Point cemetery. Born April 14 1874 in Keil Germany she married Herman T Flemming in 1896 in Council Bluffs Ia. They lived on a Fish Creek ranch before moving to upper Bridger Creek in 1941 to live with son Harry. She died at Columbus Nursing Home last Wednesday. Survivors include her son Harry a grandson Melvin Flem ming and several nieces and nephews.

Couple Released On 100 Dollar Bond In Petit Larceny Case
A man identifying as George Plante of Dayton Mian and a woman named Betty Grand of Minneapolis were charged with petit larceny after a burglary at Stira Launderama. They pleaded not guilty and posted $100 bond each before being taken into custody on the Livingston highway. Mrs. Clem Stira reported the thieves knew how to remove coins quickly. no damage occurred and $25 restitution was paid.

A district jury ruled against defendant William L. Thom as in favor of plaintiff M. W. Pederson in a debt action. County Attorney O. J. Paulson prosecuted for the plaintiff with E. O. Overland for the defendant. Jurors included John G. Johnson as foreman and several others. Related cases were transferred and a hearing date set for Dec. 5 by Judge Philip Duncan. The panel was excused until Dec. 1 for another damage action arising from a tanker truck collision near Eaton’s Inn on Sept. 18, 1956.
