Two Men Die In Cave-In Near Choteau Bridge
A cave-in at a bridge site 23 miles southeast of Choteau killed two road workers and trapped a third, Red Newman, who escaped. Ken Smith 24 formerly of Anthony New Mexico and Dan Lindseth longtime rancher of the area died in the collapse as D G Seekins left to fetch tools and returned with rescuers after more than an hour and a half.

Honored Citizen Of Big Timber Succumbs After Illness
John H. Trower of Big Timber died at his west side home at 10 30 am after months of illness beginning with high blood pressure. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 pm at the Congregational church with Rev A A Holbeck. Masonic lodge will handle burial at Mountain View cemetery. Honorary pallbearers include five former mayors. active pallbearers named. Trower, 47, Missouri native, came to Big Timber in 1914 to run the Peterson Harbor Creamery Co. He helped build a prosperous creamery, served on the Sweet Grass County high school board, was mayor three terms, led the chamber of commerce, and belonged to local lodges. Surviving are his widow, two daughters, five brothers, and three sisters.
