Another Negro Added To Southern Outrages
In Columbia Tennessee on November 11 Henry Choate an 18 year old Negro was taken from the county jail and hanged by a mob of about 300 men after it vowed to lynch him for an alleged attempted attack on a 16 year old white girl. The mob stormed the jail and then hanged Choate from a second story window after a claimed confession. Witnesses described witnesses including Rev E E Lavender and James J Finney among others who urged restraint but could not stop the lynching.

In Bozeman two bull moose were shot during the current season against the law. Andrew Blythe admitted shooting a moose near Buffalo Horn and paid a £100 fine after authorities found the skin and trophies not kept. A second wounded moose near Benham Place was tracked by Earl Benham and killed to end its suffering. the meat was salvaged.

Great Northern Men Killed At Red Eagle
Two Great Northern crewmen were killed when an eight car fast mail train derailed west of Red Eagle near Nyack. Engineer F. W. Plank and James Joy Crennan, residents of Whitefish, died in the wreck as two cars and the engine overturned. Joy was buried under the locomotive. Plank left a widow. No passengers were aboard. other crew members were unhurt. The cause of the derailment was not yet known.
