Last Rites Held For Luther Aareskjold
Funeral services for Luther Aareskjold 73 were held at Big Timber Lutheran Church with Rev. Ocee Johnson officiating. He died Saturday at Community hospital after a heart condition and had been a patient since October 25. Burial was in Mountain View. he was born in Hogland Norway on April 11 1892 and came to the United States in 1911. He is survived by his widow four stepdaughters a step son a sister in Canada fifteen grandchildren six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The Margaret Deegan chapter of the National Honor Society at Sweet Grass County High School elected officers for the year. Margery Nickel was named president, John Ellison vice president, and Judy Grosfield secretary treasurer. Seniors Gwena McGehee Terry Monness Sharon Terland. juniors Robert Hajek Latricia Ludwick. The club plans to serve as ushers for Open House Thursday evening.

Mrs. Ray Suffers Severe Stroke at Home
Mrs. Leo Ray suffered a severe stroke at her home Wednesday morning of last week. She is paralyzed on her right side and has lost, at least temporarily, the power of speech. She complained of a severe headache at Citizens Bank, was sent home, then to Community hospital and Thursday transferred to St. Vincent hospital in Billings. She was brought home yesterday to be cared for during convalescence by her daughter, Mrs. Chuck Boe.

American Legion post 19 sponsored ceremonies at both grade and high schools. At 3 p m the high school program featured Post Commander Byron Manley and color guard A. R. McDonnell Ralph Prather F B Peterson and Walter Boer. Arthur Sell Korean war veteran gave the principal address. A grade school audience heard the same program at 3 30 p m.

Three 4-H members from Sweet Grass County earned state recognition at the annual Recognition program. Danny Halverson received the Heywood Foundation sheep award of 100 dollars. ElVera Cosgriff won a trip to the National Western 4H Club Roundup in Denver and a recreation laboratory scholarship in the Black Hills. Tony Mathes earned a scholarship to the Montana Fire Prevention and Control school in Bozeman.

25 Expected to Attend Chain Saw School Here
The Gallatin National Forest schedules a two day chain saw maintenance and operation school at the Dugout in Big Timber November 16 and 17. Factory and field representatives of a major chain saw maker will conduct the sessions. About 25 Forest Service employees from Gallatin and surrounding districts will attend. Nine Pints Over Bloodmobile Quota in Sweet Grass
Sweet Grass county surpassed its 45 pint quota by nine pints at the semi annual Bloodmobile visit to the Legion hall. Donor pins were awarded to multiple residents including Mrs Orville Anderson Carl Anderson Leif Anderson John Yost and Mrs George Lamach for two pints and to several others for one pint. Dr J L Raney led the medical team with nurses and aides while high school boys helped prepare the unit. American Legion Auxiliary served hot chili from 11 am to 1 pm as nine 4H clubs recruited across rural areas. No donors were rejected in this unusual turnout.

Mrs. Vic Braaten received an invitation from Montana’s World’s Fair and Centennial Train managers to visit the exhibits in Billings where the public is urged to attend.
