Michael Fossum of Big Timber was arrested and charged with attempted theft after an incident at Citizens Bank Man. He pled guilty and received 30 days in jail, suspended on conditions including a $100 fine, a six month bar from bars, and completion of a Rimrock Guidance Foundation drug and alcohol program. Deputy Boe apprehended Fossum with help from a pursuing witness, aided by a bank silent alarm.
Federal offices in Big Timber close on Friday November 11 for Veteran's Day while Post Office and Agriculture Building remain open. Banks close along with county offices. The Montana Regional Red Cross Blood Center will send its bloodmobile to Big Timber on Thursday November 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the American Legion Hall. The Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 19 will handle canteen and registration. The area quota is 50 units, with over 400 units needed weekly for 54 area hospitals.
